DOVER BLACK - is a heavy texture roofing slate. It is very similar in look and physical properties to domestic black. Manufactured in Buckingham, VA and Peach Bottom Slate, once available from Pennsylvania. Dover Black is a non-weathering and unfading stone with a high enough level of quartz to provide the glistening sheen that is also seen on these domestics.

Our Dover Black is the only product approved as a substitute for Buckingham on historic restorations by the National Park Service, Virginia Department of Historic Resources and Historic Arlington Landmark Review Board.
